K-Series to FRS, BRZ, FT86 Full Swap Kit
This listing is for swapping in a Honda K-Series ( K24 K20 ) into a Scion FRS, Subaru BRZ, Toyota FT86 Chassis using the OEM FRS BRZ FT86 6-speed transmission.
We have finally finished the full swap kit for the K-series to FRS BRZ FT86 chassis. We are currently shooting the Youtube video to show you exactly how to install this system into the vehicle. Simply Google Collinsgarage on youtube for the video in the next couple of months, we should have it uploaded by then.
This Honda K-series engine to FRS BRZ FT86 Engine swap system uses the ZN6 6-speed transmission that comes in all of the Scion FR-S, Subaru BR-Z, and Toyota FT86 vehicles. We were able to use the factory slave cylinder with our slave cylinder adapter and cutting 1/4" off of the end of the slave cylinder rod (this is required).
This swap is very straight forward. It requires using a front sump K-series oil pan (or you can modify your oem 11200RBB000 oil pan by cutting a small shelf into the rear part of the oil pan and re-welding it to clear the subframe/sway bar) We can make a sheet metal insert for you to weld in if you choose to use your OEM steel oil pan, check the drop-down menus for this option.
You need the RSX Type-S oil pump installed in order to run a front sump oil pan. We are coming out with a K-series full Billet oil pan later next year (06-2022). The engine will sit at a slant with our kit, not straight up and down. This system pushes the transmission back substantially and requires you to remove the OEM transmission crossmember support sheet metal bracket, this is also very easy with the right equipment (1/2" wide x 18" long belt sander is the best for removing the spot welds in this tiny area). This swap kit re-uses the OEM manual transmission FRS BRZ FT86 aluminum crossmember. This swap requires a swap driveshaft (drop-down menu option), and a shortened shifter linkage (required) this is easy to do it yourself (or if there is enough demand we will make this for you).
What is Included in the kit:
-Honda K-Series to FRS, BRZ, FT86 Adapter Plate
-K24 or K20 Bolt Kit (Engine Selection dependent)
-Transmission Dowel Pins
-Hollow Honda K-Series Engine Side Dowel Pins
-K-Series Pilot Bearing Adapter
-Slave Cylinder Adapter (Grind down the slave cylinder shaft ¼’’ to get this to work)
-Conversion Flywheel (uses Stock Honda Flywheel Bolts)
Options to choose from the drop down:
-Engine Selection
-Transmission Selection
-Clutch System Selection (Different stages of, Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate, Clutch Tool)
-Engine Mount Brackets Selection (Includes engine block adapter for different engine codes for example: K24 Z3, K24 A2)
-Transmission Crossmember Tunnel Support Bracket Selection (This selection replaces the stock Sheet metal that otherwise holds the OEM crossmember onto the vehicle, Required for the swap)
-Dash Display Emulator (turns off all of the check engine lights etc, gets the push to start functionality to work)
-Driveshaft Selection (Steel, or Aluminum one-piece)
